Be careful when inserting the money and pressing the button, as the ticket is issued immediately without confirmation! The flavored egg was a bit expensive at 120 yen. I sat at the counter seat, informed the staff of the firmness of the noodles, and received my bowl after about 5 minutes. The broth is very very hot, so be careful. The firmness of the noodles was just right. The boiled dried fish broth is very rich, and the chashu and flavored egg were soft and tasty. I will definitely come back again.
First of all, due to its location, you'll need to go by car, so the ease of parking is important. The tonkotsu ramen here is strong and packs a punch, with a hint of sweetness in the soy sauce flavor that you can enjoy to the last drop. It's often said online that a firmer, richer, and larger portion is the way to go, and I have to agree! (Although I can't speak to the health aspects of that...) You can also ask for extra pork fat, but personally, I think the normal fat blends well with both the noodles and the soup and tastes delicious. When it comes to service, being a large chain, they do a good job. It's important to have an atmosphere where anyone can feel comfortable coming in. The only downside is wondering why there isn't a Yamakoya location within the 23 wards of Tokyo.
When I miss lunch, I stop by here to replenish with a tonkotsu soup and chew on thick noodles to load up on carbs for tomorrow. Excess salt and fat are fine, a comforting bowl that seeps into my tired body and soul. That's Yamakoya for you.
