Sunwing Resort Kamala Beach Phuket

Absolutely loved our stay. We came with another family for 8 nights and stayed in a Pool room deluxe. The accommodation, location and food was amazing. The staff went absolutely overboard to make us and especially the kids welcome. We used all facilities. The pools were spectacular and the kids loved the use of kids club and teen lounge. Being right on the beach it was an easy stroll to great local food and restaurants as well as fantastic local massage parlours. Make sure you turn right when you walk out on the beach to some of the best local Thai food we had. Couldn’t recommend the stay enough and will be back again.

Pros Great rooms Great pools with slides, basketball nets, goals and volleyball net. Restaurant menu has a wide variety of meals. Breakfast buffet is good Massage and spa is good. Cons Some waiters in the restaurant barely know English. Waiting times for food can be quite long.

Wonderful accommodation and very clean. Koy and staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, which made this resort perfect for our family. Our children loved the buffet breakfast and pool activities. 5 star service with a smile!

Sunwing is a well designed hotel for families that have 5 swimming pools and offer different family activities for different times. The location is great and just next to Kamala beach. You can find the restaurant easily near the hotel. The room looks renovated during the COVID as it looks nice and new. The space is for sure good too. Improvement: As said, the hotel has been spent on renovation, but I do not understand why the hotel did not keep the way to the hotel in good condition, it is a very bumpy road to the hotel. I think the hotel needs to fix that especially for the hotel image. Also, the hotel might consider replacing a nicer hair dryer and it looks a bit small and old.

There were many things to enjoy during our stay at this hotel. There’s a variety of pools to choose from, good facilities, our room was very nice, staff were efficient and the restaurant had a large selection of tasty food (with the exception of the steak, which was not only extremely disappointing but made us both ill for 2 days it was the only thing we ate that our son didn’t and he was fine). It’s also in a great location on Kamala beach. But it is exactly as it markets itself a large family oriented hotel. Staff are understandably jaded (the way some of the guests treated them was dreadful, and restaurant staff in particular worked from breakfast to evening every day) and breakfast, while abundant, is churned out for the masses. No complaints though Sunwing does what it does very well indeed.
