I work in the industry, and I can be picky. However, I can honestly say that I have never tasted such a terrible burger in my life. The fries were amazingly tasty, and the mayo for dipping was flavourful, but that burger still gives me shivers to think about it. I tried Holy Cow with my husband one evening, and I ended up leaving nearly the entire burger on the plate. My husband ordered a regular burger, while I ordered the fungi burger. The buns were dry and tasted day-old and the meat was burned without a single pinch of seasoning added to it. Horribly bland. All of their pickled elements were horribly, sickly sweet, like they were pickled in sugar syrup instead of pickling liquid. I couldn't taste the vinegar, and it had all turned to mush, which added not only a poor, out of balance taste experience, but ruined the texture. My mushroom sauce was also not seasoned, making it taste like bland, slighlty mushroomy cream with a LOT of cheap truffel oil added to it. The restaurant itself is actually really nice! Very cozy. Again, the fries were amazing (the onion rings are the ones you can buy in local supermarkets and cook in the oven, though). Holy Cow had a ton of potential, but needs someone a bit more experienced in the kitchen who knows how to taste what they're producing. Our waitress was lovely, however the man at the bar ignored my husband (he looked right at him) in liu of checking his mobile.
Everything just played. Great homemade nachos with chicken. Really delicious. Highly recommended.
