Little Big Jack - Abbeville

Good location, but with 2 other grill restaurants within 2 mins walk I'd definitely say go to one of the others!Steak had ok flavour but was super chewy, ribs were undercooked and probably the worst I've tasted, very average food and for the price- very disappointing. Service was non existent and none spoke English or understood any. Bill came to £80 (2 mains, a cocktail and a bottle of rose) for my husband and I and we had no dessert. The weather was lovely and there was a nice outside area to sit and eat, which we took advantage of.

We were pleasantly surprised by this American diner on the outskirts of Abbeville, located close to the Hotel F1 we were staying at. Food was all good, children were impressed with their food being served up in Cadillacs! Adult food was tasty and well cooked, bottomless chips were a particular winner for all of the party. Service was good and efficient, waiting staff were friendly.

My wife and I turned up on a cold, frosty February night. We were greeted cheerily and given a table speedily. Then it started to go wrong. 25 minutes later the poor girl, only waitress on that night, finally came to take our order. She apologised, took our order as well as a drink order. And then the wait began in earnest - despite reminders that we still were waiting for obviously a very complex drink order - a beer and a demi of blanc - our starter (a very poor quacamole in the end) arrived after another 20 minutes, having done a full tour of the restaurant before finding its way to us. We requested our drinks yet again and finally they came, as we were finishing the starter. There was obviously some issue as the barman kept, with a face like thunder, going into the kitchen and haranguing the chef staff. However, when our food came - only a blue cheese burger and mac'n'cheese -it, a little surprisingly, was perfectly edible. The limp lettuce accompaniment was perhaps due to it being a Sunday. The whole experience was undermined by the very poor service - no apologies were offered when we paid when I commented it had been very slow to get served. Perhaps it was just a very bad night, but we will probably try somewhere else next time.

We ate at this restaurant early Saturday night. We found that the meal was not up to standard. We asked for our steak to be cooked well done. When it arrived it was medium rare! We also asked for two side salads but we didn't get them! The service wasn't very good. When we went to pay the bill the man that was in charge was having a conversation with somebody and didn't even stop to say thank you or acknowledge us at all! Would not eat there again.
