I know that is a bold word, but really, it is the best way to describe these things. I think about them almost every day. I definitely will be ordering those again!!!
Amazing squid!!. I am not normally one to write a review, but this one is worth writing about in my opinion... We came in for dinner and thought we would try something different from the regular Chinese food we would order (Chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, chop suey). We decided to order a variety of things, but one that I really want to comment about was the Spicy Squid with Pepper Salt.... WOW! It was sooooo delicious, never had anything quite like that before. We've already been coming here, but now I have another item that I will regularly be ordering.
Just ordered for the first time and it was excellent. From the rice to the prawns we enjoyed it thoroughly. We will definatley order again.
Different Style!. I came to Oriental Village for my first time this last week and we ordered chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork and chicken fried rice for the table to share. The chicken fried rice was good and it was what I expected. It was the chicken chow mein and sweet and sour pork that took me by surprise. Although everyone at the table enjoyed all the dishes as well, we couldn 't figure out what was so different about these two dishes in comparison to other Chinese food restaurants we 'd been to. We asked the waitress, who then had the cook (maybe the manager too? come out to our table and tell us that he actually cooks these two dishes differently than how it 's traditionally done. He told us that normally other restaurants will cook the chicken chow mein in a lot of oil and therefore it 's more moist and greasy. But he prefers to cook his dry, which we enjoyed a lot as well! Normally eating the greasy chicken chow mein will give me a stomachache after the meal, but not this time! Also, he told us that normally other restaurants will leave the pork soaking in the sweet and sour sauce and then the pork is more soft and soggy. Whereas at Oriental Village, they put the pork into the sauce right before serving it and the meat is tougher. Which again, we really really enjoyed! We will definitely be coming here again.<br/ <br/ Also, one of the reviews below seems a little odd... The one who wrote in caps lock about how 'putrid ' the food was at this restaurant. She didn 't even go into detail about what she had or what exactly was so 'atrocious ' about the food. How is that helpful at all?
Best Chinese cuisine in Abbotsford. Great value. We have been going here for years and have never had unfresh vegetables or unfresh food EVER as one writer claims. Always fresh and hot. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Their Wor wonton soup is great. And by the way the word one person spelled as 'grows ' is spelled 'gross ' and it does not in anyway apply to any food at this restaurant.
