The carvery meats were incredibly moist and tender, and there was a wide variety of side dishes and gravies to choose from. The restaurant is quite popular, so it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance.
We had a wonderful dining experience at the Carvery, with our drinks already waiting for us when we returned to our table. Everything about the meal was perfect. However, one downside was that we were seated in the family area filled with noisy children, despite requesting the adult section when we made our reservation. There’s nothing wrong with kids; we were kids once too! It’s possible that being a Saturday night limited the availability of our preferred tables.
The weekend prices for the small carvery were £8.49 and for the standard carvery, £11.49. The food was tasty, particularly the gammon. The vegetables were decent, but by 2 PM, they had been under the heat lamps for a while, causing the roast potatoes and parsnips to become overly crispy. The Brussels sprouts were quite soggy, possibly because they were frozen or had been in water for too long. The cauliflower cheese could have used more flavor. Overall, it was a good value meal.
We've been here for a full Scottish breakfast 3 times in a row. Food's great and the service with a huge smile, thank you. Highly recommended!
Been here a couple of times now, never have to wait long for a table, or to get served at the bar. Carvery is amazing and great choice on regular menu. Extra benefit of Blue Light Discount was a welcome surprise too.
