Only waited about 20min, but when you 're tired and just want to get to your room this kind of delay is annoying. Short staffed maybe? We had a very large room even had a separate lounge type area! But, even with this huge room, there wasn 't a fridge. Even a small one would 've been better than nothing. No AC... not usually an issue in the UK but the summer 's can get surprisingly warm. The windows in these rooms are quite small so being able to control the room temp would be great. At least a couple of fans in the wardrobe would 've been nice option to use. Bed was ok comfy enough. Huge bathroom but the smallest shower cubicle you can imagine... total waste of potential and space! The soap in the shower dispenser was also practically water like it was filled with the soap designed for those foam dispensers or something... pretty useless. The dispenser near the bath was fine though so perhaps an error? Reported it to the front desk cause it did seem odd. Wanted ice, but no ice machine bar restaurant staff were happy to give me some. Not sure what I would 've done after that had closed though. Pool is by booking only still with covid related restrictions (time limit and number of people allowed at one time). The timer on the jacuzzi is annoying [runs for 10min and then makes you wait 10min before it can be turned on again wait for the green light. I get they do this to stop people hogging it, but that just seemed excessive seeing as only a certain amount of people and time to use it in the first place]. Steam room and sauna as well as a pool which has a weird seating section... I though the jets in this section would be quite powerful, sort of like a cold water less bubbly jacuzzi... but that didn 't seem to be the case. There were spaces for what looked like buttons so maybe they remove that functionality?? Steam room and sauna are turned off during the day so if you want to use them you need to book in the morning or evening sessions. Booking is easy to do on their app. You can 't book or use it on the day you arrive. This meant we used it the next morning before breakfast and checkout, but it would 've been nice to have been able to dip in the evening like we wanted. They give you a towel to use so you don 't need to take/use the one in your room but you will need a pound coin for the locker [returnable]. Not the greatest facility, but not terrible. Breakfast was a little cheap and clearly items from budget smart price type wholesalers. I don 't expect a lot, but I expect the breakfast to be a little better than that for a resort like this. Would I stay again? Maybe... but I 'd only do so if I could get a bargain on the room or something. Overall, this place is a little tired and dated. Need a chunk of money spending on it to bring it up to the 21st century and up to modern day expectations.
I have stayed in many places in Scotland over 17years and have to say that even some 4 5 star hotels didn't have a service and food standards as good as Moness Resort! We had stayed there for a weekend at one of the cottages and celebrated friend's hen party. Cottage was clean, spacious and well equipped. We had breakfast, afternoon tea and dinners at both restaurants and food was delicious. The customer service was really good. Special thanks to Alex and Megan who looked after us and made our stay extra special. Would I go there again? Yes, even just to have the dinner experience at the Flemmyng Restaurant again!! Thank you Moness Resort and see you again.
The accommodation was adequate, but it could benefit from better design. The downstairs bathroom was particularly inconvenient for a menopausal woman who might need to use the restroom at night. The shower was a small cubicle in a spacious bathroom that could have accommodated a large corner bath, which made it poorly designed. There’s plenty of room for a toilet and washbasin in the big cupboard upstairs. Also, there was no hairdryer in the cottage, which was a minor inconvenience. The courtyard and location were lovely. We dined at the restaurant, and while the staff were again fantastic, the food took quite a while to arrive, though it wasn’t excessively long. It would be nice to see a few local specials on the menu.
The restaurant is a delightful spot, surrounded by plenty of wildlife and a peaceful atmosphere. It's conveniently located near town, and there's even a path on the property that leads to Aberfeldy. The staff here are fantastic, especially Mia and Andrew in the restaurant, who were wonderful. However, I should mention that when booking through Expedia, it indicates there’s on-site laundry, but there isn’t any. Fortunately, the front desk staff pointed us to some local facilities.
I had a lovely stay at the restaurant, although there were a few minor issues worth mentioning, even if they might seem a bit particular. The bed was quite hard, but overall, the rooms, spa facilities, and surrounding areas were very nice. The food was delicious, though it had some inconsistencies; portion sizes varied significantly depending on what was ordered, and the vegetables seemed like an afterthought, often resembling boiled carrots and broccoli that didn't really complement the rest of the dish. Despite these points, I still enjoyed my experience and would definitely return if I'm in the area.
