The Watermill Cafe - Aberfeldy

I had a wonderful lunch at this beautiful restaurant. I ordered the soup and the special of the day. The staff was knowledgeable about vegan options, and both the soup and the special were vegan.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating when I inquired about vegan options, making the experience enjoyable rather than complicated. The beetroot, ginger, and coconut soup was fantastic! I will definitely return to try the sandwiches and cakes!

Excellent coffee, tasty sandwich and soup, they also have vegan cake on offer which was a pleasant surprise.

This cafe is in the lower ground floor of a lovely book shop, with seating both indoors and outdoors. Dogs are allowed at outdoor tables. Both on the website and the board in the cafe advertise vegan options. However, this was somewhat limited for savoury food on our visit, mainly because both the soups available that day happened to contain either meat or honey. This meant none of the specials were vegan friendly, leaving only the hummus roll from the menu, which is a pretty bland and disappointing choice! The server mentioned that one of the chefs is vegan, but it sounds like the vegan options on any given day can be hit and miss. However, there were two different vegan cakes available, which we tried and they were pretty good very sweet. There were also three different options of plant milks for hot drinks: soya, almond and oat.

They always offer a vegan special and at least two cake options. I've always had a great meal here. It's a very busy place, so it's best to make a reservation in advance to ensure you get a table.
