We had a lovely meal here. The food was cooked beautifully and the service was really good. The restaurant is really comfortable the bar is really cosy on winter’s night (sometimes have a fire going). I’ve never had any complaints with the food or service here: staff are always brilliant and friendly. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5

My meal of steak, that was perfectly cooked and seasoned followed by ice cream sundae was 5 stars. Wife's pot pie was very good but the sticky toffee pudding appeared to have been dried out so was tough. Advertised log burner was lovely looking but not lit and the room was a little chilly. I have visited the Britannia a number of times over the last couple of decades and notwithstanding the above slight issues this was the best it has been. All in all good value.
