J.d S Bbq - Acworth

We went on a Saturday afternoon middle of the day. It is a quaint quiet little place but had plenty of people in there. Our server was very friendly! We each highly enjoyed our food and the fried corn was delicious! My spicy collard greens were not super spicy to me so don 't be afraid to get them! Portions were great.

I went for just the banana pudding to go and I paid for old pudding with brown bananas and no cookies I will never order from there again

We've been going here for about 7 years and have seen the menu changed a couple times. We just rolled with it as all the food is pretty good. But I sure hate change because there are certain things I like that are now gone, like their sausage. But one thing I cannot abide by is the fact that I ordered hand sliced brisket and received chopped brisket, I had to flag down the waitress and tell her. She took my plate and came back with another. It looked like they scraped off the chopped brisket and put bigger chunks of chopped brisket. So unless the definition of sliced brisket has changed, this was not the sliced briskets I've ordered in the past. This experience has made us rethink eating here in the future and we will be looking for another BBQ place. It's been a good 7 years but sadly it's come to an end.

The server was polite but curt and appeared that she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. The price for a half slab of JD 's ribs is twice what other restaurants charge for a full slab of ribs. Also, no coffee refills and the amount of coffee they give you is about 1/2 full. And the general tone of the atmosphere and servers was dreary.

Very LOUD dining room. One big room of everyone talking, big groups of families and with that constant crying and screaming. They do have outdoor dining which probably would have been a good idea due to noise level. Extremely slow service, No idea why. Yes, they were busy, but I 'm assuming the BBQ is already cooked and in a warmer?? But, even for the cobbler, it took forever. Wouldn 't this also be pre-made and you scoop it into a bowl? I 'm thinking under-staffed. The Bbq is fine, but not the best. The sauce was really good. Hush puppies not much flavor. I wasn 't sure if they actually smoked the BBQ chicken or if they added the sauce after it was cooked. The peach cobbler was extremely bland and that was with the ice cream. They were out of the banana pudding. Service was basically drop and run, Do you have everything you need? Gone before you can answer. Here 's this. Gone.
