Lone Star Rib House - ADAMSTOWN

Food is nice enough, but service is appalling. Slow, forgot things, dirty glasses. Food was nice enough, but certainly not nice enough to wait the time it took to get the meal.

The roof restaurants at Westfield Kotara suffer from weather conditions as most have blinds for walls, open concept dining. Very windy day so chose Lone Star as inside seating. Greeted on arrival and sat at small table near cooking/service station. Menus and lunch specials explained by staff member, drinks ordered. Offered an alternative rib lunch blackboard special by waiter as being cheaper than menu and included 1 kilo pork ribs and drink for $30.00. WOW ordered small entree and this to share for two. Ribs were hot, flavour some and served in a tin bucket! so many we couldn't eat them all , and were offered take/away container to take the rest home...........The food is OK....these type of restaurants are mainly fast food type food service, and for what we ate, it was good value and filling. We were able to watch the cook at work, and boy was he busy and efficient and kept wiping serving benches and checking plates. Well done, and the wait staff (all male)were pleasant, fast working and efficient . Hasn't changed in 30 years, but it works, so if ribs are your favourite check out this place

Where do I begin. Seated at 12 noon served at 1.00pm. Not enough staff for a busy Sunday lunch. They did their best but were easily flustered. There was 6 adults in the party. Our friends ordered the rib and wings special and were happy with the quantity and quality of the food. We however ordered 2 different salads and were very, very disappointed poor quality, overcooked chicken sad salad. Beef salad was only just beef salad with 5 small pieces of beef. Not value for money.

Were going to movies and felt we would give their steaks a try. Bad decision. My partner's steak was burnt for medium well done,.Medium well done isn't well done BURNT! When we ordered we were told 'Sorry, we have run out of potatoes and sweet potatoes and only have chips left. It was 7.30pm at night???? The two options on the menu apart from chips and they run out??? A really poor decision, and a bad experience. Over priced and the theme restaurant is past it's shelf life.

Highly recommend this restaurant to families and couples. Awesome food, service and pricing is fair. Never a bad meal had there and quick service
