Nice pub in a scenic village. Food was very good great burgers. Would revisit.

The Duke at Clifton is a local pub which attracts many from afar, it has a good sized pitch for camping both tents and caravans. They also have some unique glamping motor homes they need to be checked out on the website, plenty of parking and the pub itself looks like a listed building and is very nice both in and outside. Drinks are reasonable and there is plenty of outdoor space, what lets this pub down is both the staff hanging around the bar area and the food. Put quite simply the food is not to a good standard and is over priced Recently visited ordered 2 x Sirloin steaks medium rare and they were both full of gristle we also ordered a seafood mix grill over cooked, dry and tbh looked like it was left over food they needed to get rid of which is a shame! I think they need to get a qualified chef sous chef with a redesigned menu for us we would return for a drink only but not until the standard of food changes I don’t expect to pay for below par standard of food! Such a shame as this pub with the right level and standard of food could be a gold mine for the owners Service: 3 Location: 5
