The crust feels like a cardboard, has no flavor, the Marinera sauce has no seasoning or flavor and none of the toppings weren?teven hot. NO FLAVOR!!! The raviolis were plain and you get 6 with the flavorless marinera. Finally the chicken philly sandwichwas burnt! I picked up what I thought was a mushroom? nope all burnt!!! I returned it and they removed it from the tab (didn?teven bite it). Lastly?. We arrived at 8pm and it?s 9:55pm. Yup!!! 45mins-1:15mins for a frozen tasting pizza. This was ajoke!!!! Ruined my date night! Lol my bf said racetrac pizza is better.
My husband used to eat here when he worked in the area and missed the deep dish pizza. Because it takes so long to bake, we were able to place our order at home and I was ready just a few minutes after we arrived. There was even a table reserved for us whenwe arrived. My husband and son shared a small deep dish that was 1/2 Supreme and 1/2 Meat Lover's. Neither was able to finishtheir half. I got a small cheese thin crust. The crust was thicker than I was expecting but it tasted yummy. They were perhapsshort-handed as many places are now, but it did take a bit to get drink refills. The boys also got canollis for dessert andreally enjoyed them. We will go back I'm sure and I do recommend it if you are looking for a deep, deep dish pizza.
However, I ordered a Stromboli and it was a letdown. It weighed about 5 pounds, so I expected it to be substantial, but nearly all of it was undercooked dough—extremely undercooked, to the point of being unappetizing. There were only about four slices of pepperoni, a few tiny pieces of sausage, and probably just a cheese stick's worth of cheese inside. It was pretty gross. I typically love all types of food and rarely write reviews since I generally enjoy whatever I eat, but this was by far the worst Stromboli I've ever had. If you do decide to visit, I recommend sticking to the pizza and nothing else.
Each year, my husband and his family have a tradition of enjoying pizza for Christmas. This time, our usual place was closed, so we decided to try Taste of Chicago. Since it was just the two of us this year, we ordered their garlic cheesy bread, a pepperoni pizza, and two pieces of cake for takeout. The service was excellent—quick and friendly. We opted for the thin crust pizza, which had a cracker-like texture. While it wasn't as garlicky as I usually prefer, it was still quite tasty. The cake, on the other hand, was absolutely perfect and delicious.
I tried this restaurant today, as I was in the mood for some Chicago-style pizza. I definitely made the right choice! I ordered a small pizza to share, and I'm glad I did because it was quite a bit of food. I also had a salad that isn’t pictured. The pizza came in four slices, and I ended up taking two home with me. I ordered a sweet tea, which was just okay, but everything else was fantastic! I highly recommend this place. Just be mindful – you’ll get full quickly, so don't order too much or plan to take leftovers home. Enjoy!
