Much better, from the quick and friendly service, the menu of solid pub staples and even the fact that the open fire provides an awesome feel and vibe to the venue... This is now my goto place for that unpretentious business lunch or the quick afternoon beer to chat about opportunities. There is always a great buzz and vibe there... Well worth checking out...
When you 're expectations are well and truly exceeded. I organised a dinner and function for a small group of colleagues. I coordinated with manager, Evan and Chef Simon in the week prior. Nothing was too much trouble and they were actually delighted to customise our menu and event requirements. Every part of our five course menu (killer seafood and charcuterie platter appetizer, entree, mains, desserts, cheese and fruit platter supper were beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, served to time, and totally delicious. The tomahawks that most of us had were cooked to perfection, awesomely tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. For a small pub, the wine and spirit list is incredibly well balanced. Sorry for clearing out so much of the scotch... Service by Evan to our post dinner 'meeting ' was perfectly attentive without being intrusive and makes mean coffees at just the right time. The DoB team understood what we wanted and delivered in spades. If I could add emojis, I 'd leave five stars ;
This pub is just so special and unique in its creativity. Today’s Dog Day was fun with our furry dogs enjoying the specially prepared doggie biscuits. Having the dogs with us allowed for easy introduction to other dog-lovers. The food platter was so delicious, whilst the hospitality was excellent Well done.
We had our work Christmas function here and it was a good choice. We had a room to ourselves, the food came out promptly. Everyone enjoyed their meals. A good pub choice.
While in Adelaide there was one place that was at the top of my list to visit. The Duke of Brunswick became Adelaide’s first 100% gluten free pub earlier this year. Owner Simone had the vision to provide a community friendly atmosphere for all. So when, she realized that those with Coeliac Disease were unable to eat there due to cross contamination she started working on the 100% gluten free menu. Located at 207 Gilbert Street in Adelaide.
