Would highly recommend making the trip to Flinders Street as we will certainly return for dinner there soon!
Whilst the name Green Leaves does not suggest this is an Indian Restaurant, the name reflects the healthy fresh Mediterranean style food they present for their lunch time customers. On Friday and Saturday nights the owners revert back to their Southern Indian heritage and present quality Indian based food combined with hospitable friendly service. To start we opted for Chicken Tikka and Paneer Tikka which was very good, this was followed by Malabar Beef Curry and Prawn Masala accompanied by Cheese Naan and Saffron Rice. All dishes were well presented and very enjoyable. Portion sizes was good and we struggled to finish so no room for the tempting desserts. As mentioned the prices are very reasonable for the quality provided. We shall be back for certain.
Newly opened up restaurant that is ideal for lunch but are also open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays. The service was fantastic and the selection of food was interesting across a number of cuisines. Plenty of vegetarian options. Great value for money with lunchtime curries with rice and naan bread for only $13. Give this place a try - only 10 minute walk from central shopping area.
Wasabi is our new favourite eatery. The food is fresh, tasty and delicious. This is our second meal at Wasabi, and will go again. Service is fast and friendly. Unfortunately there were not many patrons on this Saturday night. The owners were friendly and came out to chat with us. We tried many dishes and loved them all. The fish, raw, was so fresh, it tasted of the sea. Do not let the outside put you off, inside is cosy and peaceful. The prices are fair, not overly pricey. If you want a good Japanese meal, give it a try, I recommend it.
If you feel like some great gyoza or beef tataki then this is a very good place to go for lunch. Quiet and friendly; don't be put off by the dark outside colours.
