The best culinary experience of my life! And I have been to the best restaurants in the world. L’Or has beaten my preferred restaurants so far: Le Manoir au Quatre Saisons in Oxford (UK) and la Tour d’Argent in Paris.
This was a fantastic discovery in Val Tidone. The restaurant re-opened last year and it really has Michelin-Star-Potential with the two young Chefs and their team. Taking highest quality ingredients, we found a modern interpretation of classic Italian dishes with interesting combinations and a firework of tastes in one: take a traditional Roman „Cacio e Pepe“ and mix it with raw Sicilian Gamberi Rossi, for instance. The menu is reasonably priced (menus between 80 and 100 Euro) and a wine list ranging from local and inexpensive to important wines. Watch out for the opening of the 16-odd-room hotel as part of this beautiful property, just an hour away from Milan.
Outstanding restaurant. Beautiful place. Delicious food. Magical atmosphere. Outstanding young chef. Just ate at Francescana in Modena, voted the number one restaurant in the world, and this was better. Worth the trip.
