Trattoria Caico - AGRIGENTO

Excellent trattoria, the food is outstanding, definitely a “must visit” if you’re around the area. Service was casual, they let the dishes do the talking. It took a while to order drinks, and the wine menu wasn’t immediately given, so when I eventually decided what to drink they didn’t have the bottle, etc etc. This is more my problem than the restaurants, I’ll know for next time! However! I noticed that nobody had the wine menu, so I think perhaps ordering is more commonly based on pairing recommendations from the waiting staff, than actually choosing yourself. The food is outstanding and I think the price is really honest. The outdoor terrace area is beautiful too, it’s just a great place.

I've never seen so many wines and spirits on display in one restaurant before. We were seated before opening because the owner wanted us to have dinner. The staff could not be more wonderful. Even with the language difference they spoke slowly enough for us to understand what they were saying. We had the house red which was lovely. For dinner we had cod in a cherry tomato broth and a mixed salad. Both very fresh and the fish perfectly cooked. The dish was delicious. Off season is hard to find restaurants in Sicily... I'm happy they are open and available to us.

La cena fatta stasera mi fa consigliare il caico come tappa obbligatoria per tutti coloro che passano da agrigento. tra i degni antipasti di menzione è il baccalà in amarodolce su una bruschetta croccante con patatine fritte di carota. il primo merita una standing ovation, senza parole per la bontà del bolognese polipo ragù, idea del proprietario un periodo di blocco. il pesce grigliato ha dimostrato la freschezza del pesce. ampia selezione di vini. sarà uno dei luoghi dove tornerò con grande piacere.

Soddisfatto! Abbiamo preso l'antipasto di cozze e due prima. Tutto bene. la cima è il dolce cannolo siciliano! onesta qualità dei prezzi. personale cordiale. consigliato!
