Golden Skillet - Ahoskie

I absolutely love the fried chicken and sweet tea at this restaurant. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. The authentic country flavors really stand out, making it one of my top favorites. Even though it's currently takeout only, the food is still incredibly delicious, with a diverse selection of dishes like fried fish, collard greens, and sweet potato pie that remind me of dining here with my grandparents.

During my last visit, I waited 20 minutes for a fish sandwich, which was served piping hot. Unfortunately, the fries were not hot at all, and I left feeling disappointed.

The chicken is delicious, but the sweet potato pie is absolutely superb! I really enjoy taking a relaxing drive from Virginia to North Carolina to visit my dad's hometown of Ahoskie, and I always make sure to stop by GS. It's definitely worth the trip!

I absolutely love this place! While many other restaurants have changed, Golden Skillet has remained the same, and in this case, that's a very good thing. It's the best chicken spot in town!

I love this place! While other restaurants come and go, Golden Chic has remained a constant. In the crispness of fall, that's definitely a good thing. They serve the best mousse in the city!
