We were lured by heat and hunger. If sugar was nutritious there would have been no problem. So, on that very hot day the restaurants finally opened. Toro Luna had a barker who extolled the tastiness and local freshness of their food. Sorry to say,...none of it was true. We sat outside on the square people watching, waiting for service. When the young waiter came to us it was as though he was doing us a great service. And the meal fell from there. Presentation, taste, and freshness must have been derived from frozen yesterday. The meal and service were so subpar that the experience became unforgettable. I should have packed my own meals.
We should have read the reviews. I can't believe I'm writing this. we made the same mistake. restaurant on the large square, first mistake. never eat in the tourist concentration of restaurants. we sat for a simple breakfast. there were 3 possibilities. coffee and croissant, coffee, broth and orange juice or the second, complemented by egg and slices of cheese. wahl 3 was not available. we should have gone. but we chose the brot, juice and hot drink version. worse coffee, wrong tea than what was ordered, a homeopathic part of orange juice with ice cubes to take more volume. just boring. twice during the short station, a worker literally drove through the tables and chairs with a handcart, as in a louis de funès film. we couldn't go soon enough. I don't even care what they serve for lunch.
Excellent service and eating. the English-speaking waiter recommended the foie gras and paella as sharing dishes and the excellent local rosen wine. the paella is freshly cooked and wow it tasted wonderful! also the foie grass were excellent. we rounded off with lemon cake and chocolate mousse plus excellent coffee including decaff. then the band started and played rolling stones songs - what could be a better way to spend a Saturday.
We went to this restaurant the last night of our vacation, we were waiting for a good last meal before we went home the next day. But frankly, I would advise everyone to avoid this restaurant like the plague. Everything went well, to the main dish. We ordered our average meat, but it really got us too cooked. I've already eaten too cooked meat and it didn't really bother me to eat it, especially since I didn't want to bother, so we decided to just eat it. but after the main dish, everything went very fast downhill. one of us ordered a glass of wine, had to wait half an hour to receive it, after asking for it actor time. We then ordered from the desert. We had to wait 35 extra minutes for two of us to have our Catalan cream, which was horrible, it had the taste of a cold rusty egg with a sugar coating on the top and the texture was very grumpy. the other three had to wait another 15 minutes to get their pies, an order that the server had initially wrongly taken. Anyway, the pies were correct, but when the waiter came back to pick the plates, we complained about the Catalan cream. he started on the defensive very quickly, telling us that we are obviously mistaken, since it is a speciality of the house, so obviously you must not know what taste has a real Catalan cream. If he had just told us that this is how they always do, I would have accepted it, but his defensive and rude way of talking to us really put his finger on the coffin. In addition to that, we have seen several couples wait for more than 40 minutes to be helped in the first place, so this restaurant is obviously not very concerned to help its customers. In conclusion, we will not return here again. errors can always be made, but the lack of respect for the customers and the little attention paid to the reception have really stopped us, we will not return here and we advise everyone to stay away from this place.
