La Sani Grill - Ajax

This is one desi restaurant that is surprisingly not stingy like the countless other ones in the GTA, and their kabobs are fantastic. They have a very friendly staff. Their Mixed grill was pretty good and the nihari is also pretty good.

I usually only have lunch here, preferring to purchase my food and eat at home. Dining in is better with a friend and I do this at their Scarborough location. The lunch specials are a good deal even though they have increased in price quite a bit in the past few years. My favourite is the butter chicken option. The staff sometimes have a problem understanding what you are ordering due to a bit of a language barrier. I have to often correct my order when I arrive to pick my food up from the restaurant as I was misunderstood over the phone. The beef kabobs are also good. The Naans are also good and served fresh.

Ordered mixed grill plater. Beef was purplish-maroon. Definitely not fresh. Music very loud, we couldn't hear each other. We requested waitress to turn down the music, 5 minutes later someone turned it back up. Food too spicy for young children. No kids' menu. Waitress suggested butter chicken, but that too was quite spicy for us adults as well. After being served, no one came to check on us whether we were ok, or wanted to order anything else. While we were eating in the dining room (1 hour before closing), someone was sweeping the area... Couldn't they wait until the restaurant closed???Overall: poor service; stale food; and over priced for small portion sizes they offer. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant nor go there again. Very Disappointed.

We made reservation for Mothers day at Ajax location. When we made the reservation, they said we had Buffet and Menu options. When we arrived at the location the restaurant was empty with a handful of people. You would expect a restaurant that looked very fancy from outside would be extremely busy on a mothers day. Well its no surprise that this restauran is not that popular in in Ajax. This was our first time going there and I certainly say, it was the last time. The staff was terrible at service. We went there only to be told that they "tried" to call us half an hour earlier to tell us that they are only serving Buffet. By that time it was too late as we had already invited other guests to join us at the restaurant. When I asked to speak to the owner, the owner "Advised" me to go to their restaurant in Scarborough. Why would resident of Ajax go all the way to Scarborough where there are so many other restaurants that are far better than La Sani ?... Over all if you are planning to go this place, please don't trust them when you make a reservation that they will serve you ale cart or Buffet. Oh yeah...you will be served with plastic fork and spoons at your desk. Again, for a restaurant that looks fancy outside, even the buffet they serve are not warm, their spoons are wrapped in silver wrapping. As i stood there, other people who showed up for dinner, looked at their buffet ($17.00/person) and walked out the door. The owner does not seemed to care as he wanted me to bring my guests to his Scarborough location. Overall horrible experience, we did not eat there, ended up going to another Indian place in Pickering that had both buffet and food on the menu for us to order. Oh yea..they were very busy unlike this restaurant on a Mothers day.

I usually get the luncheon specials which include rice or naan, salad, plus a drink for one price which is offered until 4:00 p.m.
