We were entertained by bag-pipe-and-drum music from Oman, games display, live music and much more. The well-maintained little cubicle stands were filled with local hand crafters, a magnificent sculptor, grass matt basket weavers, a drum maker, wooden products, jewelry sellers and many more. The local cuisine was exquisite, and I had the best tea of my life sitting under a date tree with the dates hanging overhead. It was refreshing to see families having clean, decent traditional fun without any alcohol, with the well-behaved children playing outside and not sitting on their cellphones the whole time and made us feel nostalgia for our own childhood. The traditional house museum was fantastic and gave us insight into how families function and live. The date exhibition tent was pure heaven for me. I have never seen dates in so many configurations for sale under one roof. It was brilliant to see local people supporting local industry and farms. The art exhibit was well-organized, well-displayed and well-curated and 90% of the display was created by local artists. It was a real treat. But by far the best experience for us as South-Africans was the generosity, openness, hospitality, kindness and interest shown to us. We were approached by many to warmly welcome us to their beautiful country. We felt special and appreciated. Thank you kindly for that. Al-Asha is a magical place with the friendliest people I have met anywhere in Saudi-Arabia and the 4 days we had to spend here was not nearly enough to experience all it has to offer.
A very great place for family or young people...... There is more than one section to entertain games
Fantastic place. Really well built and brilliant experience. We visited the dates festival which is always great in Al Ahsa. I would give it a 5 stars but the food shop nearest to the stage area was very unprofessional. The manager was very condescending and unhelpful. One of the worker tried his best to help but this put me off and we left because we were hungry. Would love to stay longer to look around. If tourist are welcomed, then atleast one person who speaks English should be a pre requisite.
The Heritage Castle of Al ahsa, Easter Province of Saudi Arabia.
Really good place for tourists , highly recommended
