It has a very good balance with the broth, the noodles were kinda hard for me though it was labeled normal, I would recommend getting the soft version next time. The meat was very tasty and tender, while the salted egg adds a quite a surprise althroughout.
My first time trying Ikkoryu last Friday and had to read reviews first because we already paid for the Metrodeal voucher hehehe. The reviews I found were not good, I only saw like 2 3 good reviews. So here it is, will have to compare it somehow to Ippudo as I've only been to 2 real ramen restaurants (Ippudo Ikkoryu). Place 4/5 Place is good even though it is small. Lights are a bit darker than Ippudo though. Staff 4.5/5 They are polite and I did not feel intimated when I told them we will be using Metrodeal vouchers (Yup I felt we will be judged somehow for using vouchers hehe) . From the reviews I found, only 1 Ikkoryu branch was applauded for having great staffs (forgot the branch). Service 3.5/5 They are not that slow but I didn't like having the karaage potato croquet served first because it got cold already when the ramen came. After serving the ramen, gyoza came a minute later. All food should be warm or still hot when eaten right, buy it was not that baf anyway. Food 3/5 overall Ramen (Ajitama Tonkotsu): 4/5 It was good! I loved it actually but of course Ippudo will get the perfect rating hehe. It was hot, yes it was hot my tongue got hurt hahaha, when served. It didn't get cold easily. Serving was also generous unlike what I found from the reviews. Only flaw would be the Chashu was thin. Chicken Karaage: 4/5 It was also good, I loved that it was juicy. Potato Croquette: 2/5 I didn't like it that much. I don't know why. Gyoza: 2/5 Same here, I didn't like it that much maybe because it got cold when we ate it.
One of the best ramen house so far ! Their set meal is superb ! You can share it with your friend if your not that hungry because they offer big servings! Their chicken karaage is so crispy ! Plus factor is their tea Super worth it
As part of #salvasfoodventures presents #MrRamenSeries, I chose Ikkoryu ATC as the 5th ramen house to explore. I planned to order Ebi Tonkotsu but to my dismay it is discontinued. The friendly and knowledgable waiter Francis suggested Aburi Chashu Tonkotsu instead. He also suggested the Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream. These two are perfect match! A perfect balance of fresh thin noodles, smoky and not so fatty broth, sweet lean chashu ala holiday ham but smoky version plus the creamy saltiness of the ice cream. He also offered their complimentary tea. At first sip I know it's non caffeinated. When I sniffed the tea, it has woody earthy aroma. Another staff Jayson offered to refill my tea. I asked what it is, he said it's Roasted Barley. Oh yeah, the smell resembles my Lolo and Mom's roasted rice coffee! Most ramen houses color theme is red, black and white but Ikkoryu interior's stand out coz of attention to details. The mirrors are used strategically. It brilliantly created an illusion of larger space. I love the feminine vibe of the flower wall art. I was amused when I saw the wall painting with the Japanese caricatures trying to fit in a ramen bowl and also that ladle! To wrap it up, Ikkoryu ATC is one of the best ramen houses I've been for ramen fix and customer service. Kudos to Francis, Jayson and Eva for giving me a ramen tic dinner experience!
