I dined here last year when returning home and was very pleased. I thoroughly enjoyed the margarita flatbread and wine I had on last year's visit. Today, I'm not exceptionally hungry so I only ordered a Stella Artois. Blue Moon and Shock Top are typically my go to draft beers, but I settled for Stella being these two options are non-existent (in draft form). I was pleasantly surprised by how crisp and chill my beer tasted. Yum! Fast forward to great customer service, I was promised a gate check by the JetBlue clerk at check-in downstairs so I needed to get while the getting was good once I spotted her. I asked the bartender if she would be so kind to hold my beer behind the bar and gave her my credit card so she didn't think I was dodging the bill. Albeit, that would be ludicrous for 1/2 beer... people are nuts so it's probably not that irrational to suggest this could occur. She did so with no problem and was very friendly throughout my visit at the bar. I will definitely continue to dine or drink here when at the Albany Airport.
Airport wine bar. Overpriced wines but a few good options and some local (Brotherhood). 9oz pour of Brotherhood Riesling came to just under $15.00 before tip. Service at counter pretty fast. Not as quick as tables so I ordered a glass and then sat down in a more comfy chair before my flight.
I feel like everyone has already said all there is to say about this place (lol). I opted to fly through Albany (was in Saratoga) because it was easier, though a lot more expensive, than getting up here from NYC. When I came through, HVWB was the best option to get a quick drink and a bite to eat. The place was dirty lots of vacated tables and none cleared. The food was horrible. I ordered a cheese plate and all but 1 of my cheeses were incorrect. The bread, everything was laughably bad. But the wine was delicious and the pour was heavy, so 3 stars from me. Grab food somewhere else and just come here for the wine.
Oh the disappointment. Staff of three: waitress, bartender and cook to serve 50+ seats. This staffing level just sets up employees to fail. Is this a cost savings approach? This would have been a great question for the manager except no one was visibly in charge. This business is still here *ONLY* because it is the only bar/food option in the B terminal. It took an hour to get one glass of wine and a greek salad with shrimp. The shrimp were ICE cold. My wine was good and I might have wanted another glass but was never given that option. When I fly through Albany again next month, I will not waste my time. I recommend no one else does either.
