Alberton Bakery & Cafe

This is a neat little bakery, deli, and café! The food is great home-style cooking, and the bakery has all kinds of yummy pies, breads, cookies, cakes, loaves, etc.We went in two days in a row for simple egg-salad sandwiches...they were delicious!! You can't even find egg-salad sandwiches in many restaurants! They had bacon/egg/toast breakfasts for $2.99! You could get a really good variety of meals--sandwiches/lasagne/burgers/chicken/roast beef etc. at a very reasonable price, and it was real food, not packaged.This is a VERY popular place, and the line-ups can be quite long, especially at lunch-time...but the staff are very efficient, and it does not take long to get your food. Even construction and labour workers were coming in for lunches on their breaks...Who would want to make a bagged lunch when they can get a hot meal for such a reasonable price??Well worth waiting for, if there is a line-up....and there is even a drive-thru take-out window!!

We popped in here the other morning as we heard from our innkeeper that this was a great place to go! It was jammed with some locals and there's even a sort of drive through too.. I guess the locals get there coffee to go here as the nearest Tim Hortons is about 20-30 minutes away. We had breakfast with coffee.. $3 and change got you 3 strips of bacon, two eggs your way and some awesome homemade bread for toast. We found the coffee had a unusual taste but was drinkable.. so two breakfast and two coffees was under $10... a great deal! They have a counter with baked goods that we didn't try but they looked good.There is no table service so keep a listen for when your name is called because that's when your breakfast is ready

This is clearly where the locals come to eat and for good reason. Excellent food at an excellent price!

You will not be disappointed unless you don't like crowds. This place is hopping at lunch for sure. Try it you'll like it!

Here for a lunch on a winter Monday and it was tough to find a table! That's a good sign. We were there for over an hour and it was hopping the whole time. But there are a lot of staff so they keep the tables clean and the food comes out quickly. A garden salad with turkey was better than I expected. The scoop of potato salad on the side was okay. The roll that comes with it was amazing. I give it the Excellent rating because it is home cooking, friendly, and low prices for the quality and amount of food.
