We feel a bit bad because the staff were lovely, and clearly cared about the customers, but the food was diabolically bad. The restaurant is right on the marina with the ocean 200 yards away, yet they served frozen shrimp calamari “sticks” in breadcrumbs. Can’t really murder nachos so they were passable, but it wasn’t a great start. Main courses of 2x beef burrito, 1x chicken enchiladas kids fish fingers rice. The food was just weird. The burritos were wraps with minced beef in it. No sign of the refried beans and the rice was just plain white rice on the side of the plate. They tasted herby and overall awful. The enchiladas had minced chicken in that had the consistency of scrambled egg (and was the same colour). Again, not even remotely Mexican and awful taste. Big positives were the mojito very good and the side salad, which had wonderful fresh tomatoes. Kids fish fingers were fine, but they gave us chips instead of rice so we scraped one or the portions of rice off the burrito plate for our 4 year old, only to find no rice in the burrito itself… Overall, this is absolutely not a Mexican restaurant and I would not recommend to to anyone who wants a good meal. Some people might like it perhaps, but I’d guess they don’t know what the food should be like or are just extraordinarily hungry. Staff claimed the chef is Mexican but I would wager my house, my job and all future generations of my bloodline on that being a massive lie Staff were really friendly and we had no complaints. Manager was clearly disappointed we did not have a good experience and offered to cancel the items from our bill. We didn’t want that, because we’d ordered and didn’t want them losing money just because we didn’t like it, and we eventually agree to remove one dish. This was out of respect for their efforts and care, rather than acceptance of the food. We’ve now got back to our hotel and eaten again, so finally full.
Lovely location. However, the food was very poor. You could tell it wasn't fresh. The burrito I ordered was basically a soggy enchilada with melted cheese slices on it that you get on a McDonald's burger. The inside was mushed up chicken with a yellow tinge to it. The rice was served on the side. The enchilada my partner ordered was the same as my burrito but cut in half and put in a dish of tomato puree. Garlic bread was hard. The waiter asked if everything was OK with the food and then walked off when I said no and didn't come back. Would never return. Avoid.
I don’t know what was worse, the food or the staff! We have enjoyed many wonderful meals in the marina complex but this was not good, it was weird, stale, tough, soggy, cheap , and the staff need an attitude adjustment, and a chef that can actually prepare fresh tasty Mexican food.
Weit davon entfernt, richtige mexikanische Nahrung zu sein, aber gute Portionsgrößen und Service. (Übersetzt von Google) Far from being adequate Mexican food, but with good serving size and service.
