Gordinis is just of the Strip and does all right but is never really too busy. We go here every time we visit Albufeira and we have never been disappointed. I am always surprised that it is not packed out as it is the best Italian we have been in in the whole town. The beer is served in ice cold glasses straight from the freezer and the portions are huge. The Lasagne comes with mountains of extra Bolognaise and cheese and is boiling hot. You can get traditional or spicy hot and both are lovely. Service is great but you need to wait a while as it is all done fresh. The prices are very reasonable and this place is really worth a visit.
I've been to Gordinis once again this year lovely food wonderfull staff very friendly, allways very busy, we had a nice sea food rice (only by order) and very good steaks. Frozen large pints of beear nice and refreshing.
We took a rare trip to The Strip and popped into this restaurant on the way to celebrate a friends birthday. The promise of two courses and a drink for €12.50 lured us in. A choice of salad, garlic bread or soup to start, any pizza, pasta, chicken dish or a bitoque (small steak with a fried egg on top) for main, and a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Good value. The garlic bread was fine, a small baguette with plenty of garlic. The glass of wine was very generous and perfectly acceptable. We both had pizza. I had Tropical which was a Hawaiian by any other name thin base, generous amounts of pineapple and ham, but the tomato sauce and cheese were a bit bland to be honest. There was a lot of cheese, but it just didn 't taste of much. My wife had the Ferrari pepperoni and red peppers with a base that was supposed to be extra hot with piri piri sauce, but it appeared that they had forgotten to add that. It wasn 't hot at all, I am the king of the wusses when it comes to heat, and I could easily have eaten all of it without bursting into tears... The service was top notch, attentive without being overbearing, I can see why other reviewers like the owners and staff here. As I said at €12.50 it 's good value, and perfectly edible without ever coming close to disturbing the Michelin reviewers. I have to add that I am intrigued by the previous reviewer complaining about a raw egg unless it came in it 's shell, how can it possibly be a raw? I may not be John Torode, but I can spot an uncooked egg before cutting into it all day long...
If you want good food good service and a nice family atmosphere then look no further. This restaurant is excellent for families and has a host who gives personal attention to everyone. When i complemented him on his piri piri chicken he wet to the kitchen at the end of the night and gave me a jar containing his home made piri piri sauce such a nice touch needless to say we will be returning his home made
