The owners who lead the place were great, the man is the cook and the woman runs in front of the house. On the first evening we were there, we had the record du jour ad it must have one of the best meals we had, the starter was different and really pleasant and the duck for the main course was stunning and literally fell from the bone and he dessert was almost a good one. Loved the place, the owners were great and went out their way to help Very recommended as restaurant
I have to admit that we have eaten here several times as a family and are never disappointed. The service is always attentive, the food is always so delicious and fresh, and the meals leave you always want to return. If you want to be adventurous, I would recommend the ris de veau. If you don't know what this is, eat it first and then look at what it is because you won't be disappointed You order it
We were a party of eight, celebrating birthdays our hosts at the excellent B&B La Souvigne in Forges accompanied us to Albussac to this restaurant, attached to the hotel of the same name. Restaurant Roche de Vic has undergone a changing of the guard ...over the past year or do, where the younger generation of Guillaume and Benedicte Paillier have taken over from from Alaine and Claudine (while Claudine keeps an eye on proceedings). The menu is focused on local produce; the wine list is compact and affordable. My entrée of seared fois gras was a delight; my partner ventured towards the Escargot Samosas, pronounced excellent . Located mid way between Brive la Gaillarde and Argentat, Roche de Vic is slightly off the main routes, but if you are visiting the Correze, this restaurant is a must visit.
Before I write this review, I have to say I have known and loved the Roche de Vic for over twenty years, I live within 5 kms and have shied away from doing any sort of review, because it could be that you will think...I am bias, but having just celebrated my wife's birthday there with our eldest grandson and his lady, I felt I had to. I really think this hotel/restaurant is unbeatable in the this area of France, it's not the cheapest and is certainly not the dearest, but their attention to presentation of the bedrooms, the restaurant, and the food is par excellence, and they have a good cellar to boot. So the next time you are in this area of France La Correze do visit you will not regret it.
This an interesting place. The place is far from 'chic' or trendy, it does, though, have a very good menu - if you're into traditional, regional French food. I very much enjoyed my confit duck gizzards, and might have been tempted by the calves head dish if we'd returned. However, there's not much choice if you aren't up for this type of cuisine. Be warned.
