The tables and chairs are sticky. There is food spilt on the floor! Your feet stick to the floors! And the men's room is not clean!
Overall pretty good, but can be hit and miss at this location. Tonight it was good with 2 exceptions. Wife's baked potato was over cooked. Swapped for fries. My battered fish had a bit too much batter in areas but was done. Barely. Tasted good. Service was excellent and staff was friendly. That got them 4 stars instead of 3. Note for those interested: Captain D's Alcoa was opened in 1978. It was my late father's favorite place to eat back then. Also back then, and into the 80s, they also served hamburgers and breakfast. Yes, breakfast. I worked there in the early 80s as a teenager and remember it well. Part of Showney's at the time, but a franchise location. Not sure who own the location but it appears Shoney's still owns D's.
The food was absolutely fine, but the experience wasn't the best. My family has always loved going to captain d's to reminisce the old times. However, this is the first captain d's I went to that gave us take out boxes as plates. We sat down and already disliked the experience because of it. The boxes were just covered in grease and it was overall not pleasant. I just don't understand how hard it was to give us something to eat on. Especially, if a family of 5 were dining in and the place was empty. It felt lazy on their part. I wish I could rate them higher if they put in that tiny more bit of effort.
Food was good but the tables were dirty, the garbage was overflowing and the windowsills are full of flies and cobwebs. I know that they are short staffed but cleanliness is important.
Great service. Clean facility and friendly staff. Hot and fresh.
