Had good coffee and orange juice and a small cake 6.45 euros cake was ok nothing fancy, they have a lot of cakes so hope some of them are more surprising than this. A lot of locals in line, is always a good sign :
I was mesmerized when I saw Alcôa's location at Chiado in Lisbon. The sweets looked fabulous, but I had just had dinner, was full, and would not have another opportunity to try their desserts while in Lisbon. It was with delight when visiting Mosteiro de Alcobaça, that I realized Alcôa has a location in Alcobaça as well. There was no way I would miss the opportunity to have one of their sweets again. I actually ordered two! The first one I tried was Pudim São Bernardo, which was very good and reminded me of the Brazilian quindim, very rich, made of sugar and (lots of) eggs. The second one I tried was the award winning Coroa da Abadessa (first prize at the 2017 XIX Mostra Internacional de Doces e Licores Conventuais de Alcobaça); unfortunately, this sweet was a total disappointment; it tasted stale, it was hard, and had no qualities that I could speak of. The store has tables indoors, but there is also plenty of sitting outdoors on the sidewalk at Praça 25 de Abril (April 25th Square). Parking is available around the square.
I think this is the best pastel de nata I ever had!!! And they won several awards for that... Go and choose those you want, I am pretty sure you will like it
It's kinda busy but the sweets are delicious
