King Street Tavern - Alexandria

I wish it had been mentioned that the restaurant is located in the Hilton. If we had known, we would have opted for a different place.

We spent Christmas in Old Alexandria with my family, and with a large group, our options were somewhat limited. We ended up at this restaurant, encouraged by the previous reviews, but we were left feeling underwhelmed. The general consensus among my group was that while everything was almost good, nothing really stood out. The food lacked seasoning and a finishing touch; it was just lacking that special something. I don’t think we’ll come back. On the positive side, our server was very attentive, and the manager was also responsive. However, since it was Christmas Day, we were grateful to have any option at all. We arrived hungry and left feeling full, which sometimes has to be enough.

My department had a Christmas luncheon at this restaurant, and it was a lovely experience.

Food was excellent. Service was very good since we were almost the only ones in there at the time.

Got IPA glazed wings and a very good crab cake sandwich. Service was great and I enjoyed the meal.
