Feedback gevenI normally love poke, but this place was terrible. They served old ahi that tasted like food poisoning and costed nearly double normal price. They keep personal food/drink in the same refrigerator as restaurant drinks. And they wouldn?t even give me a cup of water. All restaurants are supposed to have that. We threw away the poke, it was unbearable.
Having just moved back to the area from Hawaii, I was excited to discover a poke place close by. Unfortunately this place did not live up to the reviews and was honestly inedible. The fish was far from fresh and tasted like it had just been doused in Aloha soy sauce and tossed with some giant chunks of onion. I ended up tossing it in the garbage because it was disgusting. I wanted to love this place but will definitely not be back.
The Kahuku style lobster special is to die for and the macaroni salad is the greatest I?ve ever had. Will be back to try everything else for sure!
A little disappointed. I got the firecracker tuna poke and all it was is rice, seaweed, tuna. Everything was fresh, but for a $24 dish I expected a little more creativity. The pieces were huge, which is not something to welcome in a poke bowl. Overall, it?s ok.
At the time I went, it was Poke only. I loved the food, but it's important that you know what you're getting. It's not a choose your own adventure of toppings and sauces in a bowl of rice. It's a simple rice with a seaweed salad on top and a hearty portion of sauced/ seasoned raw fish on the side. I've never had poke from Hawaii, but I strongly suspect this is what it's like.
