Pamela's Bayou In A Bowl - Alexandria

Cafeteria style diner. Lunch platter gets you choice of protein with rice/mashed potatoes plus 2 sides. Huge portion. Had smother pork chops, mac and cheese, and green beans. And it was all top notch comfort food.

Very underwhelming. The good looks great but the taste wasn’t there to be claiming the bayou. They were very friendly, but my entire group walked away with a bad experience.

Found ourselves in Alexandria a couple of weeks ago for my dad's hospital stay. Needing lunch and mental break we decided on something close so we dropped in on Pamela's ️ What a blessing! Walking in, hearing the fry cook offer food to a man that hadn't eaten that day and being greeted with smiles and warmth then to top it off the food was on point. Have stopped a lot of places that claim to have REAL southern cooking......This place is the real thing. Food was OUTSTANDING…made me miss my Mamaw that much more. Thank you guys for everything!

Not so great food. Unhelpful kids in serving line. I would say plastic silverware but, no, only a plastic fork. Drink machine doesn’t work, no tea available and no butter available for corn bread served cold. Green beans too peppered to eat. Only 1 star. They just don’t care.
