Pizzaiolo Cafe On Fern - Alexandria

I didn't see anyone over the age of 21 working when we went. Not necessarily a bad thing, but guess I'm just old enough to be assured if there is a real adult present. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, generally, but there were a few missed that could have been avoided: bringing utensils and a few extra napkins before the food was primary. The inside is small but smelled good when we walked in. There?s a good amount of outdoor seating as well. Pizza was served hot and prompt. The pizza was good! The crust was thin, cheese was good and it wasn?t too greasy. Would go back for another pizza or to try their other food

We really wish we had ordered the pizza instead. The pasta was average, but the meat was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, everything was a bit too oily. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly. We might come back to check out the specials and happy hours.

I walked in clearly in a hurry and asked if they had any pizza ready. The staff said yes, took my money, and then five minutes later, when I inquired about the pizza, I was told it would be another five minutes. Meanwhile, I overheard the Spanish cook saying it would actually take 15 to 20 minutes. It seems like they managed to keep both my money and the pizza. Good for them!

The atmosphere is pleasant and it seems to be a local favorite. The pizza looked delicious, but the pesto sauce for the pasta was more like a watery, green-tinged oil.
