Cooh - Alexandria

A local suggested we dine here for lunch. Despite us being walk-ins on a busy Saturday arvo, from the go we were attended to immediately, seated with menus, and had another waiter pouring us glasses of water. Excellent service and attentive staff. This venue is for everyone. There's a kids' menu, it's very pet-friendly, and it's also wheelchair-accessible. It's open and airy, and you still have a feel of privacy despite the many tables on offer. The bathrooms were presented nicely, with smart black décor and swish sinks. We parked in the side street Collins Street) in front of the restaurant. Then there was the food! We went for the Grilled Barramundi w Sweet Potato puree, salsa verde, herb salad citrus dressing $32), and the Chicken Satay Salad w peanut satay sauce, coconut drizzle, marinated free-range chicken breast, pear herb salad jasmine rice $26). Both meals came out in a timely manner: they were perfectly cooked and full of flavour. I don't know what salad dressing they used in the pear herb salad, but it was absolutely delish! All up, this was a great dining experience. We were here celebrating my birthday, so this really enhanced my day!

We went to Cooh for lunch for the first time this Sunday and it was fantastic. Great vibe in the large casual open space. The seared tuna was sensational: perfectly cooked, spicy and with delicious avo purée and tasty slaw, super healthy to boot. My husband had the chicken burger and it was also great. Both dishes were generous serves and given the quality of food and stylish surrounds I think it was fairly priced. Definitely think Cooh will become a new favourite for us.

Had breakfast here this morning and enjoyed it very much. Nice coffee and good fritters, served by friendly staff with smiles on their faces. So I went back for lunch and had another positive experience, this time trying the cumin roasted cauliflower salad. Very good, plus a nice 'balance ' fresh juice. Ambience is great an indoor/outdoor feel with high ceilings.

We eat breakfast regularly here and love the scrambled eggs and have not had a problem before but unfortunately will not be back again. Ordered scrambled eggs and avocado (my favourite) well cooked as I am pregnant and made a point of saying to definitely leave off the sprouts as a garnish as I could not eat them as they were unsafe while pregnant. I have ordered like this before with no problem here, like I said we eat regularly. Eggs arrived well cooked (tick) but covered in the sprouts. I buttered half a piece of the toast and also noticed that the sliced avocado had several brown spots in it and I could not safely remove all the sprouts so we sent the whole meal back explaining the sprouts issue. It arrived 15 minutes later (my husband had already eaten so his meal would not get cold) and the same half buttered toast and brown spotted avocado and remade eggs that were now overcooked which was a shame so there was a communication issue in the kitchen. I ate the eggs with my cold already half buttered toast that I had made 15 minutes earlier as I was starving and my husband made a comment when we went to pay how disappointing it was they didn 't replate with fresh ingredients and warm toast and the male waiter actually argued with us actually raising his voice telling us we were wrong and that they 'didn 't do that there ' they always replate. We explained that it wasn 't the case as the toast came out half buttered from me and the avocado had the same brown spots on it and he kept arguing with us . He went to the kitchen and asked them and came back saying that it was all definitely replated with fresh toast and continued to raise his voice last us. Unbelievable ! Eventually, so embarrassed we said just let us pay and leave. Such appalling attitude to actually lie to our face, whether it was kitchen staff lying we are not sure but to raise his voice at us (we were not raising our voices, just giving feedback) and then not offer an apology as should have been the case is extremely bad customer service. We noticed the staff were not the same as the last time we came in. Perhaps change in staff or management? Shame as this place used to be great with great service to match the food.

Overpriced not good bad service it’s a bad place do not come here just go to Mac Donald’s down the road
