El Mirador - Alhaurín el Grande

I came here with my family to rest before taking the boat to morocco the next day. It was practically a disaster. First off the directions were very off, and we went to the wrong place 2 times, we can’t blame you for that though. But when we arrived, the service was taking long, poor man at the desk was awake the whole night until 10 in the morning, it costed so long until they were done booking the rooms. Next to that, the man was nice when we went to eat our breakfast. Now that i’m talking about breakfast, breakfast was very limited; toast with cheese, jam or tomato. The rooms were cold when we came in, and the airco made much noise and we couldn’t turn it off. We also heard the toilet flushing in the middle of the night by itself. Very weird isn’t it? There also was a lot of noise whenever you turned the light on in the bathroom. My parents slept in a separate room and they told me that there were a lot of mosquitoes. I don’t recommend going here if you have a lot of luggage, there weren’t any elevators, and you have to take the stairs. The place has a beautiful sight itself.

We were supposed to have our wedding at Hotel el Mirador. However, our contact person in Mirador changed and the new person wanted to do things in a completely different way than we had previously agreed with the hotel. The price of the wedding was several thousand euros more than what they told us in the beginning when signing the contract. Also they didn't want to give us the total cost of the wedding by email. Not until the wedding was too late to cancel. Our contact person at the hotel did not respond to our emails or phone calls and he did not respect us or our wedding planner at all. Not even when we flew from Finland to the Mirador for the second time to meet him because of the poor communication. He was not willing to talk to us or provide a good service. All i can say is that this place is very inflexible and I cannot recommend it to anyone. They have no interest in their clients' weddings. They just want the money. The last months before our wedding were a real nightmare. At the very last minute the only option was to cancel the wedding at Mirador because they did not respect the contract and there was no guarantee that they would be able to make it. There were numerous obstacles for them to organize our wedding. I've never experienced the same poor service as this place. Thanks god we found another wedding venue that provided us very professional service and organized our dream wedding even though the schedule was very tight.

Spent a weekend there.Very comfortable room. Pity most of the hotel was mothballed due to the plandemic. From what I saw it would be a great place to spend more time at once restrictions are lifted. Staff very accomodating and helpful.

Best night sleep Iv had in in Spain. Quiet room overlooking a stunning view. Beautiful location but let down by inattentive staff. Could have been notified in advance the restaurant would be closed and access to food is scarce. Not helped to get food and when I finally managed to get a delivery the receptionist let it go away rather than call me in my room to notify me it was there. Beautiful surroundings but not made to feel welcome. Cleaning staff were a delight. Pool was not open in the morning which is a shame if you want to swim in the morning it’s not possible. Would return for the sheer beauty and the pool and the quality of sleep that’s possible here.

Lovely pool.very quiet. the floors in both rooms needed cleaning.the bar only had bottled beers.but for the price it was ok.
