El Gosto Del Gourmet - Alicante

We really enjoyed our visit on New Years Day evening and whilst it wasn’t perfect, it was still very good. The service and hospitality we wonderful which hasn’t always been the case this trip. We walked out of another restaurant for a distinct lack of service and this place was great for service. The food quality was good but again we had better during this trip. We had tiger prawns which were HUGE and delicious. 10/10 Mixed croquetas 10/10: these were YUMMY!! Fried squid (calamari) 10/10: batter was so light and the quid so soft and delicate, PERFECT! Pork knuckle 6/10, a little bland and unexciting. Iberica ham, egg, potatoes and patron peppers: 6/10, very disappointing that they used frozen crinkle fries and not real potatoes. Not acceptable really so that was a bit disappointing. Overall we had more excellent dishes than average ones and the place is lovely with a nice ambiance and great service. I would recommend it but be aware you won’t get fresh potatoes, they’re frozen crinkle fries so if you don’t want these anyway then all good!

The best paella I had in Alicante. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I am coming back again for sure. Well recommended!!!

The atmosphere is very elegant, yet cosy. The service is impeccable and exceeds any expectations. Food is well prepared, well presented and absolutely delicious. 10/10 all round!

Fuimos a comer dos personas y pedimos el revuelto de espárragos con gambas, el rabo de toro y la lubina a la gallega. La comida ha estado muy rica y casera y el servicio del personal así como el ambiente han sido de 10 también. Lo recomiendo mucho
