Rufete - Alijo

Amazing generous family food, quick service and very nice staff/owners. Had veal cutlet and lamb chops and the amazing Porto cake.

I visited this place in December and it was one of the few restaurants open in the town for lunch then. I was a bit hesitant at the beginning, but it was worth it in the end. I had the codfish with potato purée and a glass of wine. Big portion, very well cooked and tasty. The staff speaks English well and can help you with recommendations. Not very big menu, but everything there looked carefully selected and well prepared.

The restaurant looks a little tiered and is situated away from the river but for very good food at reasonable prices I would definitely recommend. The food is very traditional and full off flavour cooked by a competent chef . The wine was very good and 7euro for a litre excellent value and the staff were very friendly and helpful .

Restaurante acolhedor perto de uma antiga estação de comboios no Pinhão,junto ao rio. Serviço muito agradável e comida saborosa. Comemos umas bochechas de porco em vinho tinto com batata e uma costeleta de novilho grelhada acompanhado com um vinho tinto Cedro do Noval.
