Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza - Allentown

I visited this restaurant for the first time today. I initially would have given it 4 stars, but the wait for the pizza was longer than anticipated. I noticed people who arrived after me were getting their pizzas first, and when mine finally arrived, it was cold. Not great. The pizza itself was delicious, though there were some burnt edges since it’s cooked in a hot oven. The Caesar salad and meatballs were also very tasty. It’s clear that they take care in crafting their pizzas; it seems they prepare them with a lot of attention. I’m willing to give this place another chance, but this review reflects my experience today.

We really love this restaurant. The pizza is fantastic, and the wings are excellent too. Just a heads up, the wings aren't your typical Buffalo-style hot wings; they have a unique flavor of their own. The pizza is cooked in a coal oven, and as they often point out, it’s not just cooked well, but truly well-made. So if you're in the mood for soggy New York-style pizza or chicken wings drenched in hot sauce (which I personally enjoy), this place might not be the right fit for you.

The garlic knots were fantastic. However, Paulie’s cake had a bit too many toppings with the onions, and the meatballs were served cold. On the bright side, the crust was really tasty. Just a heads up—it was chilly inside, so you might want to bring a sweater.

First customer and that is what I get. Will not come back and I do not recommend Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. Edit: spoke to managers and this is common, especially when they are busy. I won't come back, but manager was nice and offered me a placement.

Wow. Just...WOW! I'm used to brick oven pizza being my favorite so I was nervous about trying coal fired pizza. I thought it'd be thick and burnt but this pizza was so delicious! I'm hooked...even the garlic knots...wow.
