Nichol End Marine - Allerdale

I walked from Keswick center to Nichol End Marina. It was a lovely walk, but I was relieved when I arrived at the marina cafe. Roger, also known as jolly Roger, welcomed me and was incredibly helpful and friendly. The cafe was quiet as the season was winding down. I ordered an oat milk coffee and a large raisin sticky toffee scone, which was delicious. I couldn't finish it all, so I took half home in a bag. The cafe had a variety of fresh and tasty scones at reasonable prices. After enjoying my treats, Roger took me for a boat ride across Derwent Water. He was a genuinely nice man, and his hospitality made my day. I was delighted to have discovered such a great place and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area. I plan to return next year to try out the boating and canoeing activities.

This incredible marina prioritizes customer experience and value for money. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The outdoor hot shower is spectacular and offers a breathtaking view. Thank you for a great experience!

We had an amazing experience renting kayaks! Suzanne and her team were extremely helpful and provided us with some great local suggestions. We even had the pleasure of witnessing a kingfisher catching a fish. I highly recommend this place!

We rented kayaks here. Derwentwater is a beautiful lake with various “beaches” for walking around. The people at Nichol’s were friendly and efficient. There is also a nice little cafe on-site.

Called in for a coffee after a short journey from Keswick. Had originally stopped at the Chalet in Portinscale but had walked away due to very rude staff. Glad we did, the service,coffee and location ,not to mention the views were excellent. Thankyou
