We didn't know anything about the place at all when we went. We had only seen it from once from the outside when we were at the theater next door and someone told us it was a jazz bar. We decided to go sometime. We stopped by about 19:45 and the lady at the front door looked at us like we were crazy. I know now that's because shows start at 21:00. We had been told it was a jazz bar so we, of course, expected to see jazz music. The lady asked if we had a reservation and when I said no she asked what type of music I wanted to see. I was surprised by tue question and stumbling with my poor Russian and said any music. They took us to the third floor! That's when we found out they ha e three floors and a stage on each floor with different groups performing what I can only assume is different types of music on each. We saw a blues group. One of the vocalists had an amazing voice, the other...well...not so much. The food only gets 3 stars from me. It was a beautiful presentation, truly beautiful, but I ordered duck with pears and my pears were served cold!!! Cold pears with duck!! Anyone knows my pears should have been roasted. It was weird to eat cold, crisp, crunchy slices of pears with roasted duck. I wonder if it was an error or if that's actually how they serve it every time. It was really expensive and if I'm going to pay that much then I don't expect cold crispy fruit served with my bird. They sat us right by the bathroom, but I can't really complain about that, it's supposed to be a reservation only place and we didn't have one. I'll go back but I'll be sure to make a reservation first and I probably won't eat anything. I'll also know to reserve a table in the jazz room.
A real authentic music café where you can spend a nice evening to hear a good music played by talented musicians. delicious food. magical atmosphere. various and interesting program. we enjoyed the performance of the tolis golias band very much. highly recommended.
A truly authentic night with locals. we were possibly the only ancestors certainly the only one from New Zealand and we felt welcome in the bar on the dance floor!
Depends on who is playing as jazz can be self indulgent
