Marsha does an excellent job of maintaining the cleanliness and coziness of the cabins. Initially, I was hesitant after reading various reviews, but I found the cabins to be very clean and well-stocked with essentials. The manager was incredibly friendly, and Marsha kept us supplied with fresh linens and towels. The trails are absolutely breathtaking; we’ve decided this will be an annual trip for our family! Nearby activities offer stunning scenery and trails that are truly unmatched!
Before you visit this restaurant, be sure to familiarize yourself with their cancellation policies. They are quite strict and seem indifferent to your reasons for canceling. If you need to cancel less than a month in advance, you will be charged for the entire duration of your reservation—not just the deposit. While I understand retaining the deposit, it's unreasonable to expect someone to plan a month ahead for something as unpredictable as a family emergency. Personally, I would not consider returning to this place again.
The older gentleman behind the counter was quite unfriendly during my visit. Additionally, I found the prices to be excessively high. I recommend purchasing any last-minute items in Gunnison instead. However, the surrounding area is stunning and definitely makes the trip worthwhile.

I’ve been to Taylor Park numerous times with friends – riding both 4x4 and dirt bike. You may be wondering if this place is for you. First, the trails that were hard 5 years ago are now much more difficult do to use and erosion. Dust is a big problem if you ride on the main roads. The management used to be nice and easy to get along with. The restaurant had good food and good service. But my latest experience with Taylor Park Trading Post will be my last if the current general manager is not replaced. The first thing that was a red flag, regarding him, was my conversation with him in the store. I stated that there are not as many bikes as there usually are. He said that was a good thing because they are usually the ones that speed. Next, when I drove my vehicle up the hill from the store to the campground, he jumped me about my speed. The speed limit is a ridiculous 8 mph. It was a clear road (about 500 ft up the hill , no one else on it and I was stirring up no dust – probably going 10-12 mph. Next, when we ate at the Nugget Café, we were surprised to learn that no longer did waitresses come to your table. You ordered at the counter. Two immature teenagers seemed to be in charge. A guy brought the food. Yet I left a 20 percent tip when paying. After riding most of the day on “Star Trail” – probably the hardest single-track trail in the area and maybe the state, and having eaten very little, I was counting on some food at the Nugget Café. It was a little after 7:00. There were several vehicles parked in front and people coming out. I walked up to the door, as customers came out, and was greatly surprised that it was locked. I knocked on the door and one of the immature teenagers said we are closed. That was a great disappointment because I was thinking they close at 8:00 and I was very hungry. I expressed my disappointment but was not “rude” or being a “****”. I went back to the parking lot in front of the store and started looking on my phone for the restaurant in Ten Cup. The general manager (Berry came out and angerly proceeded to scold me for being a rude **** because I did not respect the time the restaurant closes. (I later checked the sign, and the closing time had been 8:00 but they had covered the 8 with a stick on 7. He threatened to kick me out and that they would refuse service. (Also, a sign in the bathroom warns that violators may be asked to leave with no refund. I did not argument with him because he was not the type to listen. I did ask what time the restaurant in Ten Cup closes to which he replied, “I don’t know, and I don’t give a s& .” I’ve traveled much of the world and have never come across such a rude control freak. This guy (Berry has no idea how to deal with people. He is in the wrong place and is a blight to the business. He would fit in much better at a prison where the people he insulted would deserve the harsh and rude treatment more. And then the younger woman at the gate check in was also rude and unkind – threatening to make me pay for another night for being a bit late for checkout, even though it had no effect on them since there was a lot of space in the dry-camp area. Explains why there were several open spots, which was not typical of previous years. Prices for dry camping had doubled. The food was double the price it should be. A great place to leave and stay away from, at least for now. Ted, the owner, might eventually make some changes to save the company. Reading other reviews serves to confirm my experience and assessment. I'm going to make sure Ted sees my bad review and is aware of all the others.
