Feedback gevenI had a fantastic dinner at a small restaurant just outside of Alpine, Wyoming. With only ten tables, it offers an intimate atmosphere and exceptional attention to detail from both the staff and the chef. The cuisine leans towards Italian with a Western twist, and the wine list is thoughtfully curated and reasonably priced. I highly recommend making reservations, especially since there’s a charming little bar to enjoy while you wait for your table. This place is a hidden gem, and I will definitely return. The scenic views along the Snake River in Jackson added to the experience, which was a pleasant surprise in this alpine setting.
The door service was poor, and while the main waitress was somewhat attentive, the support staff seemed unsure of how to assist. The food was mediocre, with only two Italian dishes available on the menu. The prices were excessive for what was offered. Additionally, the dining rooms were noisy and unappealing, with views that left much to be desired.
After we moved to Wyoming, we were recommended to OYG. From the outside, it appears to be a house, but once you step inside, the friendly staff at the small bar warmly welcomes you. We were shown to our table and given the menus. Many dishes are prepared with seasonal ingredients, with some available for only a short time. When the food arrived, we were blown away! The starters were fantastic, and everyone enjoyed their entrees, which were perfectly portioned. My critical partner, who is a fantastic steak chef himself, is usually disappointed when dining out. However, he ordered the steak and, for the first time EVER, he couldn't find anything to criticize. We will definitely return! The staff was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The menu prices are reasonable, and it would be a shame not to experience the food if you live in or are visiting the area.
