The prime rib was cooked just the way I ordered, tender and juicy. The clam oscar was tender, topped with herbs and crumbs, and broiled to perfection. The fried clams were tender and crispy. Very good food. We were a party of four, arrived around 6:30pm and we had cocktails, appetizers, main course, and dessert. We left around 8:30pm. This restaurant is not for you if you want fast food. But if you want good wholesome food that is served by staff who aim to please, then the Sandy Point Restaurant is the place. You won't be disappointed. The management has also upheld a tradition and staffed the restaurant with the local high school population. For some of them this is their first job and as expected, some are timid, but they are eager to learn and do well. The back dining room has high tops that seat 4 but can easily accommodate 6 with plenty of room. Along the wall there are several square and rectangle tables that can be put together to accommodate a large party. This dining room also has great views of Winnipesaukee's Alton Bay. The front dining room has round tables that seat 6 and 8. Both dining rooms are spacious, clean, and inviting. What could be done to improve? Perhaps supplying each table with a canister of pencils so the guests can converse, brainstorm, and design while waiting for the next course. A slightly audible jazz piano could be played in the background to provide a consistent level of cadence (such as Blue in Green: played by A.L. [hidden link] .
The worst meal I've EVER had. Service horrible. Food disgusting. This is NOT the old place. Went there remembering the old place and came for same experience. Huge disappointment. Arrived on Labor Day weekend to empty restaurant. Which should have been first red flag. Sat down and waitress was frazzled, which was odd since she only had 2 tables. Prices incredibly expensive. Atmosphere so depressing. Everyone looks miserable. Service so slow. Took forever to get food. People next to us sent steamers back and then received steak dinner and refused to pay because was so bad. Best part was laughing with them how bad it was. Would never come back and you shouldn't either.
Yikes. Sorry Nolan's, you should have stayed in Wolfeboro. It took forevvvvvver to get our food. We ordered stuffed scallops and chicken piccata. They don't come with a side salad or bread (even though tables around us had delicious loaves of bread on their tables and there were butter dishes). My piccata was devoid of flavor and the pasta was dry and without any sauce. I asked that any sauce be brought and was not surprised when it was tin-can tasting marinara. My husband's scallops were in some sort of pink colored liquid at the bottom. Sigh, we loved the old Sandy Point. Also, THIS IS NOT THE SAME MENU AS THE NOLANS IN WOLFEBORO! We went exclusively for the vegetable rangoons that we love so much. Our bad.
They 're Back!!!! No longer Nolan 's at Sandy Point. If you loved this restaurant for many decades as I have, give them a try. My husband, my daughter and I visited Sandy Point Restaurant tonight. I 've been a loyal customer since I was a very small child. With Wally and Jean Damon 's retirement 4 or 5 years ago, this restaurant has undergone some major challenges. It was even an entirely different place last year, Nolan 's at Sandy Point. I am very happy to share that it is now, once again, Sandy Point Restaurant, and the traditional favorites (king baked stuffed lobster and prime rib) are once again on their menu. We all tried the lobster and found it to be delicious. The stuffing was delicious and the only change was that the amount of cracker crumbs was way fewer than in days past. If you love all the crackers, I guess you could ask for extra cracker crumbs. The owner/chef 's name is Tony. He came out to talk with us; a real nice guy originally from New Jersey. Our waitress was Diane. She has been with the restaurant for 20 plus years and she was such a pleasure. Her daughter has now joined the staff and is doing a fabulous job alongside her. They have only been open for about a week now and may need some additional staff on those really busy nights. I am thrilled that it is now once again, Sandy Point Restaurant. The staff is still new, so please be patient with them. Any kinks will be worked out in time. Check their Facebook page daily to see when they 're open as they are still working on their schedule. I highly recommend you give them a try and a great review when you 're satisfied. Thank You!
Went to sandy point last night, i knew they just opened and my rule of thumb is don't go till mid august. But we went to see, this was their opening weekend. The wait staff is very attentive and pleasant. We were happy with our food it was prepared well. Kitchen needs some help i assume my grandsons meal came out 10 minutes before the rest of our meals, our meals came out I'm guessing 40 minutes from ordering. I'm being generous) My wife had the prime rib and was pleased with it. I had broiled scallops. My wife didn't get her baked potato and i didn't get my vegetables,Just need to get a few things straightened out. If you are planning on going please be patient and give them a chance. Its got to be hard to put it together like this. The menu is nice it will be what you are looking for from sandy point. Glad that i went i hope their season goes well.
