Eastern Express Chinese - Altoona

I've been dining at Eastern Express for years and have loved every meal. It has become one of my favorite small local Chinese take-out spots. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I've never received a wrong order, but I know they would go out of their way to make things right if I did. I will definitely keep getting my take-out from here!

In my opinion, it’s far better than any Chinese take-out I’ve had in any other city. While they do have a dining room and a lunchtime buffet on weekdays, I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw anyone dining in. The staff is consistently friendly, and the food arrives at lightning speed. It’s always cooked just right—not too greasy, and never undercooked or overcooked. The prices are comparable to other Chinese take-out places in the area, and the menu is similar to what you’d find elsewhere, so that’s not particularly notable. As for the ambiance, it’s nothing extravagant, especially with all the construction happening around it. If you’ve never been before, you might find it a bit challenging to locate. The interior shows signs of aging, but it’s always clean and well-kept—not dirty at all. You can actually see into the kitchen area from the counter, and it looks tidy. If you're craving Chinese take-out, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. While it may not be authentic Chinese cuisine, it’s definitely one of the best options in the area. I can’t get enough of their #13 Special Combination Plate and Roast Pork Lo Mein!

This is the best Chinese restaurant in town! The staff is friendly, and the food is excellent. I've been coming here for about 20 years and have never had any issues!

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The service was exceptionally friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious—without a doubt the best Chinese cuisine I’ve ever enjoyed. I tried the sweet and sour chicken with rice for the first time, and the sauce was simply the best I've ever had. The fried pork rice and egg rolls were fantastic as well. I left as a very satisfied customer! The prices are great too! Thank you so much! This place truly deserves a 10 out of 10!
