George's At Alys Beach

We all agreed that our waiter was quite snarky and rude. Our group consisted of both adults and teens. At one point, a person who appeared to be the manager or host passed by and burped near us, which was off-putting. The food was just average. If you're expecting a fancy meal for those prices, you might want to think again. The pistachio-encrusted fish was thin, dry, and overcooked. The scallops were good, but the lobster quesadilla resembled a crepe—cold and mushy, so I wouldn't recommend it. On a positive note, everyone enjoyed their desserts. However, it seems that as the evening progresses, the overall experience declines, coupled with a noticeable lack of attention from the staff. I don’t plan on returning.

We had a very nice lunch at George's. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a great beach vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food was really good. I had the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, which was tasty. My wife got the Orchard Salad, which was fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend stopping in if you're in town.

I’m perplexed at why this place came so highly recommended. We found the food to be mediocre. The best dish was the calamari fries. That was tasty, but the grouper I had was very bland and had no flavor. We also got their salty and spicy shrimp- very salty, no spice. Dinner for 2 was well over $115 and we felt we definitely didn’t get our money’s worth. Servers were great, though. There are definitely better restaurants to go to for seafood.
