O Moinho Centro Historico - Amarante

Stopped by while on a pit stop of a tour group. Our guide recommended we check out the bakeries in town, and I tried this one. They have a pastry that’s quite saucy in shape (think male reproductive organ), and it was delicious. The filling especially was great.

Warmer place to eat something sweet before exploring amarante. good bakery with all the traditional bakery.

I like to come to this little caffe. it is great to come here on a date or a rainy day to read a book while some traditional (delict) baked. it is a place where I bring my strange friends to try some...berries, enjoy a good view of the river and relax a bit. note: the eclairs here are fantastic!

After we visited another nearby bakery, which was busy (via chaotic) and lacked in the atmosphere, we went down the street and found this charmingly friendly and much quieter place. it was a great place to hang and enjoy it among the local, not...tourists a simple lunch made of freshly pressed orange juice (probably the best we ever had and a tosta con queijo on delicious, freshly baked brot was great (see photo). Although we were not woven by a doce regional bake (a bit too sweet and ei-y for our taste), we liked the coffee there. overall, our experience at the moinho centro historic positiw was that we returned in the night when we left amarante for another box stop. it was another great and satisfying visit. for a simple meal or baked and coffee in a relaxed and pleasant environment, this is definitely worth a try!
