I have been coming to this chippy for years and have never had a bad experience with either food or service. I bought fish and chips bout a month ago and although food was delicious the member of staff was not. Today 8th Oct I came into the chippy. It was clearly busy with the cafe being full. However, I waited over 10 minutes just to be served whilst the assistants discussed who was working which shift, cleaned the front of the counter and ignored the que. A little acknowledgement would have been lovely. Then when the food came, I asked for salt vinegar but it was so salty it was inedible and the batter was mushy the batter is usually beautiful. A really disappointing experience from a place that was the best in Amble and let's be honest it isn't cheap. I hope these couple of bad experiences are just a blip and the service food will return to its normal quality. We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday, the restaurant was so busy we had to have a takeaway. They were very busy and a little disorganised but the food was excellent, the batter was perfect and the fish and chips fresh. The price was a little high for the position size but all round a pleasurable experience. We thought £21.60 very expensive for 2 fish and one lot of chips as while the fish were freshly cooked the chips were cold and hard and thankfully there wasn't many of then. The staff only spoke to ask what we wanted and not very friendly at all. We will not be returning Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

Nice quality fish and chips £23 for haddock small chips cod bites chips and curry sauce a bit steep. One staff member was great the other rather frosty to say the least.
