Good place to visit to da vincis castle! very friendly service, nice light food and generally a pleasant experience.
We returned to get a table after being turned away because this small restaurant was full. When we came back after a tour of the Chateau du Clos Luce, we had only one choice, the plate of the day, which was simply noodles with a...chicken leg on top. Nothing more. Perhaps they had run out of food ...but I'm not sure that the energy we put into finding this restaurant and being served something so very average justified the effort.
We pre-reserved a table a couple weeks in advance, as we had a large group. We intended to visit Chateau Clos Luce across the street, so this was a very convenient location. We were greeted by the owner, Ingrid, who helped us with menus, etc....Many of our party had a complete brunch, others the quiche and some the special of the day, Beef Bourguignon. Most had some of the specialty teas that they are known for. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal immensely. Those who had the quiche noted that it was a very large portion. I had the Beef Bourguignon. It featured a large portion of very tender beef with gravy, three good sized potatoes and a side salad. It was much more like a dinner than a lunch. The lunch was not only good portions but very tasty. We later had some tasty desserts and wrapped up our visit. Would definitely come back for a visit if we ever make it back to Amboise.
We stumbled on this little cafe opposite Leonardo de V’s bedroom window in the Chateau de Clos Luce. It was run, I think, by the couple who were cook and waitress. The Matron was friendly and helpful, nice change to some other eateries in the...town. The home-made broccoli and goat’s cheese was deep and tasty served with a salad. My husband was as equally pleased with his charcuterie platter. Wines on offer but only one local blond beer, but it is only a small place and obviously not room for any lager. Small terrace area as well. Really enjoyable lunch stop and set us up nicely for the tour round the Chateau de Clos Luce.
