Albergo Amerino - Amelia

We purchased a home in Amelia 13 years ago. We travel there two to three times a year. We never miss an opportunity to eat at the Albergo Ristorante Amerino. They serve excellent handmade pastas and have a brace, that is a wood fired grill. Their grilled meats are really the best in the area- ask what is special that day and not listed on the menu. This past time they had suckling pig...amazing, large portion served with potatoes and vegetable (unusual for an Italian eatery) all for 13 euro. They serve the local Zanchi wines, even their house wine, which is very good at 7 euro a bottle. It is also worth ordering a large antipasti platter for the table( for 1 person is easily enough for two). The pizzas are thin crust with a nice crunch- my wife's favorite kind. They will usually bring limoncello and grappa on the house at the end of the meal. This is a casual dining experience, excellent for families traveling with children.

Been here a few times and the food is consistently good. Ambience depends on how busy the place is as when empty it can feel a bit odd, but then the service is a bit more attentive. That said the service is good without being intrusive and staff are helpful with the menu. Usually we have one of their meat options which are beautifully cooked and great value. Portion control is good and their focaccia is worth a visit on its own. Salads and veg sides are a bit simplistic but then why over complicate. Pizzas are good and pastas typical of the region. Generally a good value place to eat good examples of regional food.

Excellent food and impeccable service, friendly and kind. both the first and the pizza we liked very much, abundant portions and quality ingredients. a type of restaurant as there are few: together with the coffee we served limoncello and grappa, small gestures that are disappearing. recommended.
