Van Hemert's Dutch Oven Bakery Ames, Ia

I decided to review this bakery after seeing their advertisement on Highway 30 while heading to North Iowa for Thanksgiving. Despite it being the day before the holiday, they had a wonderful selection of baked goods still available. I tried a Dutch letter that was just as delicious as the ones I had in Pella. However, I found that a few other items I purchased were overly sweet, which made it difficult to truly enjoy the pastries. On a positive note, the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Raspberry cake! What a delightful range of raspberry varieties. Even though I'm far away, I can't help but wish I were in Ames enjoying her raspberry treats.

I ordered 165 donuts for a large event, and every single one looked amazing. The two donuts I tried were absolutely the best I’ve ever had. The process of making such a large order was incredibly easy, and the staff was friendly, professional, and efficient. The pricing was also very reasonable. These are truly the best donuts ever!

The staff was very friendly and helpful and everything I got was absolutely brilliant! I ordered an icy raspberry Chai Latte, breakfast sandwich and a glazed donut. The service was also very fast, even with several other customers who had ordered food and drinks, which was great as I was in a little hurry. Very recommended and hope to be back soon!!

I ordered a cake at the last minute, and they did a great job even with short staff. The baker went out of her way to make what I wanted, and it turned out both beautiful and delicious. Thank you!
